the same type and thickness
to keep the uniformity of the

• Work in a continuous spiral
unless otherwise stated.
• The doll is approximately 19
cm / 7.4 inch tall, however, the
size will vary depending on the
thickness of the yarn and the
hook we crochet with.
BOBBLE STITCH TUTORIAL
This stitch consists of pulling up a series of loops that we will then pull through all at
once. The number of double crochets that can be worked with can vary between 3 to
5, but in the case of this pattern we will work with 3 dc in each bobble stitch.
- Yarn over and insert the hook into the next stitch. (Photo 1)
- Yarn over and pull through. You should have 3 loops on the hook. (Photo 2)
- Yarn over and pull through 2 of the loops (This is essentially completing the first
half of one double crochet stitch). Now, you will have two loops on the hook.
(Photo 3) - Repeat the previous steps two more times so that you have three not-quitecomplete dc stitches worked into the same stitch. There will be four loops on
the hook. (Photo 4) - Yarn over and pull through all four loops. This closes your bobble crochet
stitch. (Photo 5)

At the end of the round, you will have 22 hair
strands.

Insert the crochet hook into the last front loop of R4, the one just to the left of
your marker. Work around the front loops of R4 as the direction indicated in the
image below. (Photo 34)

R7. 23-26. [ch 8, start from 2nd chain from hook, 1 slst, 6 sc, skip 1 stitch of R4 and 1slst in next one] x4,
27-35. [Ch 17, start from 2nd chain from hook, 1 slst, 2 inc, 13 sc and make a slst in next st of R4] x9, 1 slst in the front loop of R4 where we start the strands of R7.
Cut the yarn and fasten off your work. At the
end, you will have 13 hair strands.
Situate the center of the wig in the center of the
head. Secure each hair strand of R6 with pins and
place the first 7 strands you made in front of the
face (Photo 35). Consider that strand 1 and 7
should be right next to the ears. Place the
remaining 15 strands at the back of the head. Be
guided by the images below if necessary. (Photos
36, 37, 38 and 39)

Put a bit of glue on the back of each hair strand to stick them over the head, then put
the pin back on until the glue dries. Glue completely from hair strand 1 to 7. For longer
strands, glue only 10 stitches below the start of the strands.
Now it is the turn of the strands of R7. Place the 4 smaller strands in front (Photos 40
and 41) and the remaining ones in the area behind the head. To locate the missing
strands, be guided by the photos below (cover any empty space left in the head after
gluing the R6 strands). (Photos 42, 43, 44 and 45)

Repeat the same procedure mentioned above to glue the strands of R6. Fully glue
strands 23, 24, 25 and 26. Lastly, from strands 27 to 35, just apply a little glue halfway
through so that they are a little loose.

Hair buns (Make two)

R3. [1 sc, inc] x3 (9)

Fasten off leaving a long tail to sew it to the
hair. Stuff the bun a little.
Sew the hair buns to the wig and use the
pictures 46 and 47 as a guide to position them in
the hair. Note that they must be on the sides
(more or less between the third and sixth stitch
of the longest strands of V7).

CARROT PIN
Use orange
R1. 4 sc in a mr (4)

Working in FLO of Round 7 of carrot. Attach
chartreuse green to last st. (Photo 50)

Cut the yarn and fasten off your work.
Glue or sew the carrot pin in front of the hair bun
on your left (or the right side of the doll), as
shown in the picture. (Photo 52)

SHOES
(Make two and crochet loosely or with a 2.5 mm crochet hook)
Use Siena Brown
Ch 7 and start in second chain from hook.

R6. 6 slst, ch 4 and skip 5 sts (Photo 53), 8 slst (18)
Cut the yarn, hide the end on the wrong side of the
shoe.

DRESS
Start with siena brown
Ch 34 and start in the 8th chain from hook. (Photo 54)
R1. 27 sc (27) ch 1 and turn
R2-3. (2 rows) 27 sc (27) ch 1 and turn

R5-6. (2 rows) 30 sc (30) and join with 1 slst to the
other end of the dress through the front loop.
(Photo 55)

Continue working in rounds. From now on, the
chains that you make in the beginning do not
count as stitches: therefore, work the first SC of
the round in the same stitch as the chain.
Moreover, close the round with a slst through the
first stitch and go on working the next round.
R7. (FLO) ch 1, 2 sc, inc, [4 sc, inc] x5, 2 sc (36) (Photo
56)
R8. Ch 1, [5 sc, inc] x6 (42)
R9. Ch 1, 3 sc, inc, [6 sc, inc] x5, 3 sc (48)
R10-11. (2 rounds) ch 1, 48 sc (48)
The next 4 rounds are crocheted alternating siena brown and orange. Follow
diagram 1 using the Jacquard technique to achieve a color fading effect.
R12. Ch 1, [7 sc, inc] x6 (54)
R13-14. (2 rounds) Ch 1, 54 sc (54) (Foto 57)
R15. Ch 1, 4 sc, inc, [8 sc, inc], 4 sc (60)
Cut the siena brown yarn. Continue only with orange
R16-17. (2 rounds) Ch 1, 60 sc (60)
R18. Ch 1, [9 sc, inc] x6 (66)

*Pay attention to R12 and R15, as these are rounds with increases. In the diagram I mark with this where the increases of the round are. In round 12 the increases are marked as 2 separate stitches. On the other hand, in R15, each stitch marked as an increase counts as the 2 stitches of the increase instead of 1. *
Cut the yarn and hide the end on the wrong side of the dress.
Dress straps
Use cream
The straps are made on the chains with which the dress starts. Insert the crochet hook
into the first single crochet of R1 (Photo 58) and make 1 ch (does not count as a stitch).
R1. 5 sc, ch 8 and skip 4 sts (Photo 59), 9 sc, ch 8
and skip 4 sts, 5 sc (35) ch 1 and turn
R2. Skip the first st and 1sc in the second (Photo
60), 3 slst, [1 sc, 1 hdc, 1 dc, 2 trc, 1 dc, 1 hdc, 1 sc]
in the ch 8, 9 slst, [1 sc, 1 hdc, 1 dc, 2 trc, 1 dc,
1hdc, 1 sc] in the ch 8, 5 slst.
Fasten off and weave in the remaining yarn
tail.

Button
Use orange
R1. 4sc in a mr and join through the first st of round with 1 slst. (4)
Fasten off leaving a long tail to sew it to the dress (you could also place a small
orange bead as a button).
Sew the button to the dress on the opposite side of the hole formed by the chains
in round 1 of the dress. (Photos 61 and 62)

I hope you enjoyed making Carol as much as I did!
